I am
a man of many ambitions, and most of them involve writing. I wanna
write screenplays, ideally for animated features. Non-fiction, prose,
and political commentary would also be welcome. I gots ideas a'
plenty.
I also enjoy web design. In fact,
most of my work experience has been in usability and technical writing.
My resume tells the tale.
The rest of this page is dedicated to upcoming

Social
Science for Social Software
For too long, social software design has been mired
in armchair theories and anecdotal evidence. Social scientists have
amassed an impressive body of empirical research on topics from
anti-social behavior to group decision-making. Unfortunately, your
average software developer has no easy access to this mountain of
wisdom. My book attempts to rectify this state of affairs by reviewing
the most relevant research and providing many example applications.

Black
Powder
I've been pluggin' away on this western/steampunk/anime
setting for some time. Gunslingers with Tesla coils, magician alchemists,
and otherworldly Savages who prowl the edge of the known world!
At present, we're planning to publish the introduction
for free, then a series of low-price pdf chapters. When they're
done, we'll compile the whole book for a glossy, print-on-demand
edition.

Novels
I've got great ideas for action movies, TV series, and video games.
To get them the attention they deserve, I'll need a format that's
more readable than a screenplay, but less verbose than a short story.
Something like a treatment, but with a lot more style.
First on the block is "Dead Man's Hand," the heart-warming
tale of a girl and her possessed hand. Also, there's a witch doctor
and a shapeshifting cannibal spirit. Teh awesome.

Memoirs
My good friend Clint Krause asked
me to give his Chaosium monograph a read-through. I was all too
happy to render an opinion, and he was good enough to give me an
editing credit. As I can attest, it's a great read.

Respectable Journalism
A student newspaper once asked
me to write a few words about two satirical student groups I'd
started at the U of MN. They published those words amidst descriptions
of honest groups like Campus Crusade for Christ. Funny stuff.
